Introduction Sandy is a city in Salt Lake County, in the Salt Lake City metro area. A suburb of Salt Lake City, Sandy covers a total area of 57.9 km² (22.4 mi²) of which 57.8 km² (22.3 mi²) of it is land and 0.1 km² (0.04 mi²) of it (0.09%) is water. Interstate 15 and State Street (U.S. 89) run through the western portions of the city, while the Jordan River forms part of the western border with West Jordan and South Jordan.
The climate of Sandy is semi-arid with four distinct seasons. It snows from November through March. Summers are warm while Fall and Spring are the best seasons of the year.
