Introduction West Jordan, Utah's sixth largest city covers a total area of 80.0 km² (30.9 mi²), all land. West Jordan is situated in the Salt Lake Valley between the Oquirrh Mountain Range to the west and the Wasatch mountain range to the east on the Jordan River. It’s strategic location near major transportation corridors provides easy access to all major western markets, the Salt Lake International Airport, world-class destination resorts, universities and colleges, and numerous employment opportunities along the Wasatch Front. The city lies approximately 18 miles southwest of downtown Salt Lake City. The city is bordered by Taylorsville and Kearns on the north, by South Jordan on the south, by Sandy, Murray and Midvale on the east, by Copperton on the west, and by West Valley City on the extreme northwestern corner.
